Yesterday I decided that in addition to complaining to the FEI and signing petitions in protest, and joining Facebook groups that are anti-Rollkur, I would also remember and take the time to say thank you to a group of people who did a very important thing.
Epona TV sent a videographer to the World Cup. That person stood and filmed the warm-up, documenting the Patrik Kittel ride that got all of the above going.
And Epona TV has, imo, handled this entire situation with professionalism and courtesy.
I wrote them an email saying thank you for what they've done for the horses. And this morning I got a most gracious email response, from a real person who signed a real name.
Which was very much appreciated and is more than I've gotten from the FEI.
I think it's as important to note the doers of good as it is to focus on the other extreme.
Thank you, Epona TV.

You're absolutely right about this and more people should follow your example. It's always good to recognize and thank the people who do their job and usually go without thanks. Great idea.
It was nice to write a thank you in the midst of all the other things I've been writing!
Billie - I'm thanking you for your excellent posts about this subject. I just posted a link on my blog to you. What you are doing here will have an impact, and it's such an important issue that as many people as possible need to know about it. Paul Belasik's quote says it all. It goes far beyond dressage.
Thank YOU, Victoria. I agree - this is a far-reaching issue and I appreciate the link.
great reminder. i will also write to thank them :-)
I'm impressed with their work - and that they respond.
Billie, you have done a great job of providing timely information on this issue. Thank you so much for once again reminding us to be thankful in the face of all the negativity. It is so easy to get caught up in fighting for change that you forget those who made change possible.
Heather Moffett on Facebook has done a wonderful job of getting a BIG group of people together, in one place, where the information and energy just flies back and forth!
You are right - EponaTV journalists Julie Taylor and Luise Tomsen deserve a medal and much recognition for this one.
I am very impressed by the increasing welfare ethic of the Danish such as welfare scientist Jan Ladewig, show jumper Susan Kjaergard, and EponaTV in leading the way in change in sport horse welfare.
Let's do our bit, by writing, petitioning, using clear specific wording and puting the heat on the FEI for change.
It's great seeing more names to thank - I appreciate the comment.
