the between-places

For every one of us there are moments of revelation at the nexus point where opposites meet: dark and light, joy and sorrow, knowing and singing. In these days of growing light, when spring is still far ahead and the grip of winter is ever present, the opportunity to sample the opposites and stand at their still center is potent. These experiences do not have to be sought after; they arrive, magically blending elements together to seek us out... thresholds of awakening where the soul is alert and watchful for omens of change, auguries of joy, promises of belonging.

Hi Billie,
Please come on over to my blog roll and pick up your birthday card, for tomorrow's big day. I couldn't figure out how to paste it here for you, sorry to make you pick up your own birthday wishes. Have a great day.

p.s. sorry to be such a pest, but sooner or later I will figure this computer out, I also added your b'day card at the top of my tags blog since I don't think you can copy it from the blog roll. I'm sure your are thinking by now that this is more trouble than it's worth.

Arlene, thank you so much - I am having trouble moving around your blog once it loads - it's been doing this for several days. It loads fine and then when I try to scroll down it locks up and I end up having to force quit my browser.

Not sure what's going on - I just tried again and it's not letting me do anything but sit and watch the little ball spin.

You're so kind to do all that for my birthday!

Maybe stuck places are just between places. I guess that's okay as long as spring is coming. :-)

In spite of the fact that it was 16 degrees when I woke up this morning, I do think spring is coming.

Those ice circles made me very happy, for some reason!

Those ice circles are quite amazing!

At first I thought the ice circles looked like a fleet of UFOs that had landed in the night.

The interesting thing is that when I dumped them out, I was intent on feeding and didn't note the way they looked there all together. It was only toward the end of chores that I walked past and realized that the way they'd landed and how they looked lying there was quite something.

Thank you! I actually have a fever and had to cancel my riding lesson, but I sat in the sunshine for two hours while my daughter had hers. I felt great while at the barn, but now that I'm back inside I'm achy again.

In good spirits, though!

Well it's certainly not a good day to have a fever, hope the sunshine has you feeling better soon. Happy Birthday again.

I think the ice circles are very cool. And, of course, I love the pictures of the horses.

Arlene, thanks. We shifted our celebration to something quieter and rescheduled the bigger party for a couple of weeks when this flu-like thing has passed.

Watched a movie bundled up on the sofa with quilts and we did have chocolate truffle cake with coffee ice cream - fortunately there is no stomach thing with this bug!

Thanks, Rising Rainbow. That foggy morning shot was very ethereal, like the Mists of Avalon.
