rain!!

We have a big fat heavy rain storm rolling through - it came out of nowhere and has been going for nearly a half an hour. It's cutting the heat a little and also giving everything a big drink. So grateful for it. I came in with a blinding headache that came on very suddenly while I was out at the barn - it almost seemed like something changed in the air and wham, my left eyeball was gripped in pain. When I came in there was a pink/red storm cell very close by. I wonder if the pressure shifted suddenly and it just hit me weird. ??

But in any case, daughter made me a super sprout sandwich and I am much better. The rain falling seemed to help too!

I have that issue with pressure changes bringing on a headache. Hope it feels better! For what it's worth: caffeine, ibuprofen, and decongestant helps me...

Good for you. Send the storm up this way when you're done with it.

I get pressure change headaches too, usually I take a Tylenol sinus decongestant/pain pill. Feel better.

Jane, thanks - I'm glad to know there might be a good reason for that sudden onset eyeball throb!!

A, I hope you get some rain soon if not already - I happened to see this storm cell form on the weather radar. It was not something that rolled in so much as it formed like a flower blooming on the screen and then as the blossoms unfurled, made it to us.

It then sort of dissipated right off the map. I guess the heat caused it to form. Very welcome and I hope it happens again today and tomorrow, when the extreme heat seems to be relaxing back to low 90s.

Out here popcorn storms often "form up" (our highly technical term) out of nowhere. Well, not lately, but when we're not in a drought anyway.

Sudden pressure drops can totally cause headaches. And freak animals out. In my yoga class, super low pressure usually destroys everyone's balance - no standing poses ;)

Glad you're feeling better!

I sure hope Murray gets a bunch of rain this week. Fingers crossed!

billie - for myself, I find the onset of sudden blizzards has much the same effect. I ask for a Stud Muffin and if one is forthcoming, my head soon clears. We seem to be in a gigantic dust bowl for the moment, which is quite delightful.

C, the popcorn analogy is perfect. I watched one happen yesterday - two days in a row! It was quite intriguing to look at the weather radar and out my window at the same time to see the progression.

Matthew, yes, I hope M. gets rain too. We need our hay!

Sheaffer, I am sure you are enjoying the dust bowl effect! Stay as cool as is comfortable for you and keep an eye on that wild boy Chester!

Such different weather! But I do understand the head-aches and unfortunately have no sure remedy.

I hope you found a darkened room and some quiet, as well as an empathetic daughter.

Maire, the shades pulled and no lights on made a big difference. The food helped and when the rain fell, it felt like the pressure released.
