diorama

With family out of town, I've come down from the garret to do revisions in a new location. I looked up and over the laptop screen this morning to see this lovely sight.

Sun, light, shadow, and lace, illuminated.

Alchemy.

Beautiful! I love those moments that capture you by the eyes and pull you out of yourself for a moment. Very cool.

It was a surprise. At that time of the morning I'm rarely inside. It was magical to glance up and see it today.

The ghost image is like a living dream. You want to touch it, but in doing so, the dark reality of your hand destroys it.

It was very ephemeral and delicate - shimmering and moving.

I didn't go near it - didn't want to cast my shadow onto something that fleeting. It lasted about 15 minutes before the sun shifted.

Almost like a camera obscura in the room.

Yes, almost like one.

Art is in the eye and the heart, not the pen, ink, or canvas. This photo reveals as much about you as it does the reflection on the wall.

Thank you, Carolyn. It's always good to see you here. :)
