slow weekend and the conundrum

We had a thunderstorm last night, some more rain, and temps are now below 90 for the week, if the forecast is correct.

This morning I sweated more doing yoga (16 poses that will change your life - but I did only 8) than I did doing barn chores!

I'm still struggling with tightness in the lower back. I can stretch it out with yoga, can ease it with a rolled blanket, and also by lying flat, but I suspect the real cure is to go out and ride.

The hard part of that is getting motivated to do what it takes to be in the saddle, moving. I guess it's one of those things where you have to push through the hard part to get to the good part.

And it's also a lesson in not letting oneself get to the hard place, in the first place. One of those things I have to learn over and over again.

Simply said: if riding makes your body (not to mention mind and soul) happy, do it every day.

So if you only did 8 yoga poses does that mean only half of your life changes?
I know how you feel about getting motivated to ride. This morning my other knee hurt and I just didn't feel like it. But I got pushed into it by J. and now I feel better and so does my knee. Dusty was so good it's hard to believe she's the same horse I sent back to the seller years ago.
As long as the weather is a bit cooler ... Just do it! I think you will feel better afterwards.

LOL, Arlene - I should have pushed through the final 8!

You're an inspiration - but it would also help if you could send J. down here to put me through boot camp to get me over this hump! :)

I was out with daughter last night while she rode Cody - at dusk - and it was comfortable. I'm thinking instead of trying to do yoga and barn chores and ride in the a.m. maybe I should just join in with her in the evening now that it's not getting so hot during the days. (of course that could change w/in the week, but at least for now, it's cooling off a bit before dark)

Last night I did another yoga class called yoga for pain relief - it was actually pretty difficult but slow in pace, and I got through around 40 minutes.
