crazy first week of spring

One of those weeks that feels a little bit like a roller coaster. The death of an old friend brought sadness and many good memories over the weekend, then Monday morning Keil Bay had his beloved chiro as did Redford (not his favorite thing but he was brave).

More than the usual number of medical/dental appointments this week (usual = zero) and another old friend's retirement party.

Waiting on the final university decision (out of 3 she applied to, 2 acceptances thus far) with my daughter and helping son plan travel for his summer REU in physics at UCLA. (still reeling over both these things - how did 18 and 21 years pass so quickly?)

Four cats with spring fever and the cat haven front porch enclosure plus tunnel from porch up and around the side of the house to connect to the back yard cannot come soon enough. (construction scheduled in about 10 days)

Busy with writing projects even as I wait for several others to bloom where they've been planted.

It's that time of year.

Sorry to hear about your friend. As we get older there's just too many times this happens.

I hear you about the dental visit.mi went this morning and had two implants. I wouldn't recommend it unless absolutely necessary. Hurt like h--ll.

Hope you're writing projects bloom.

Thanks, Arlene.

Oh dear re: implants. I have one tooth that is being a bit troublesome (some bone loss but not the 'usual' kind) so the proposed thing now is to do a connected crown to give it support. I so dread dental work that this process, which will need one visit to perio to have gum tissue trimmed back, then to dentist for crown measurement, etc., then final dentist visit for fitting the crown, is totally blowing my mind. I have nightmares before these kinds of things and even putting it on my schedule creates stress and dread.

And then I feel badly that I'm being such a wimp when really, this isn't that big a deal in the big scheme of things!

Sigh. I hope you're feeling relief today and getting back to normal.

I totally understand your stress about the dentist. I've always been a coward when it comes to dental work. In my opinion you're justified to fear having anything done. My whole family can't believe I did this but I really had no choice. It was a visible tooth in the top front. So if I didn't want to look like a Jack-O-Lantern when I smiled there was no alternative. Let me know when you go and I'll commiserate with you ;)
