the week's end

Yesterday afternoon this image on the wall outside my garret perfectly captured the mood of the week's end ... golden light and dancing shadow, warmth inside as the wind outside took on a chill.

The image here doesn't quite capture the color and definitely not the movement, but it has its own grainy appeal.

And now, of course, we're on to Monday and a new week's magic.

Seems like there is a whole world just out of focus in that golden light. It makes me want to pass through the curtain. :)

The light itself was stunning, but its dancing quality was especially magical. It did have a through the looking glass sort of feel.

A ghostly image with gold in it is nice. I've never seen that before.

Hey, Peggy, good to see you here... :) It was one of those moments when the sun was setting and something, possibly the cloud cover, softened it to what you see in the photo. Except it was richer and deeper in tone than I was able to capture.

Actually, now that I'm thinking of it again, it was almost like a living watercolor - there was a definite fluidity to it.

I looked today but it wasn't the same.

Billie, this afternoon I was painting the shadow of the leaves on the outside of the wall, it felt just like that, dancing, magical, fluid.

Oh, Shara, I hope you post a photo of your painting over at your place -- I know it must be beautiful.

If you go to Shara's blog, you'll see she did indeed post a photo of her wonderful painting.

Look at that one, and then browse - so many wonderful images and words.

Thank you, Shara!
