Send good thoughts to the Clementina Ballerina Ladybird today

Clem’s vets managed to fit her into their surgical schedule today and her mast cell tumor will be removed.  We’re so grateful to them, and surrounding her with love and light today and onward. I appreciate any good thoughts you can send to her. There is strength in numbers!

Thank you, A. The surgery went very well and the vet feels she got good margins. The tumor was small, there is no metastasis to chest or abdomen, and now we’re waiting the 1-2 weeks needed for the cytology report which will grade the tumor and direct any further treatment.

I have a consult with our homeopathic vet on Tuesday and we’ll use his protocol along with whatever else is indicated.

In some ways the hardest part right now is keeping an active, happy, golden girl quiet for the next two weeks. In order to keep her happy we removed the cone immediately and are using a Suitical sleeve which has thus far worked very well. We also have a donut collar that we can deploy if we need extra help to keep her from messing with the surgical site. So far she hasn’t touched it. With no cone or crate we’re taking shifts being with her in the gated first floor bedroom. She slept with me last night. We also have two different meds we can use to calm her if she gets restless, along with the med for pain/inflammation and my alternating arnica and bellis p.

Whew. I’m glad the surgery is done and now we’re onward to recuperation.

Happy to hear the surgery went well and her prognosis is good. My dogs always hated those cones too…who wouldn’t! I’m sure it’s hard to keep her quiet but sounds like you’ve all got it covered. Two weeks will fly by but it will probably seem like a long time to everyone taking care of her, it’s especially hard to keep an active dog down. Good luck with everything and give her a hug from me.
