As things sometimes happen, impossibly, today this was published, and this evening I got a message from my brother that my mom fell. In the matter of a few hours, she was taken to hospital, has a broken femur, went into surgery, is now out, it went well, and she’s going to her room. I’ll see her in the morning. Life is just crazy, isn’t it?
Oh no! So glad the surgery went well and I hope her recovery is swift. Thinking of her and all of you. Take care!
Thank you! She is a bit disoriented today but they say it’s the anesthesia still in her system. She sat up and stood up and did some good things for herself with physical therapy, alternating between frustration and feeling good about the idea of getting back to her usual routine soon. I’m so grateful to my brother - she lives with him and thus we do not have to make a lot of difficult decisions about discharge care. It sounds like short-term rehab and then home with some in-home services.

Sorry to hear about your mom but good to hear she's on the mend and has family around to help her after rehab.
