Latest report from the barnyard:
Rafer Johnson bucked tonight when it was time to go back to his stall!
Wouldn't it be fascinating if we could have radiographs that matched his progressing activity?
It's pretty clear he is ready to be back to a normal donkey routine.
Sounds like he is feeling pretty good. I do hope he doesn't overdo it and hurt himself, but I'm sure if it did hurt he wouldn't do it. He's a real character.
ReplyDeleteWell, presumably the 22 hours out of 24 he's spending in the stall is preventing him from overdoing it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe vet said we should be seeing him using the casted leg as if it were normal. The cast is keeping the bone stable, and his putting weight on the casted leg is keeping the other side from developing sympathetic laminitis.
I'm actually more worried about when we take the cast off - that's when the time out of the stall might get dicey.
One thing at a time, though. That's about all I can manage on any given day. :)
