The persistence of tulip poplars

These are sprouting directly from cut timber. I am amazed.

  1. I love tulip poplars! The mild pistachio-color of their new leaves in March opens the season of greening across our farm. And I love the shades and textures of their bark. Sad to see these gentle giants laying here but hopeful to see signs of rejuvenation already.
