Cody's abscess has finally stopped draining and he's moving normally again. He is back to regular turn-out now and we're all relieved this particular abscess is over with. It's going to take awhile for the hoof to grow this thing out. I'm playing it by ear in terms of riding - not quite yet but he really does need the work.
Porch plants are coming in for the winter tomorrow as we look for lows in the 30s this weekend. I think it's safe to say it - fall is finally here!
Good stuff all around. My spirits always lift in the fall.
ReplyDeleteKate, mine too. I just love it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like all is going very well! How's your leg feeling?
ReplyDeleteArlene, it's great. I learned the first ride that I was overwrapping. (ha!) I'm now putting vitamin E oil on it once a day and just wearing normal socks and boots when riding and all is well. It's starting to do it's final peel which is a good sign. Thank you for asking!!
ReplyDeleteI am wishing I were up there to go get a cone with you and Victoria. :)
Glad to hear your leg is healing. Wish you were here too, they do make great homemade ice cream at the dairy farm where we go! I'll be home by Wednesday I've been staying at the farm while J. Is vacationing in Scotland doing a tour of the islands and stone circles, castles etc.
ReplyDeleteTell J. hello for me and that if she is up for a week-long writing retreat at a private setting in Virginia in late January to shoot me an email. I will be there with another writer friend and I think there will be another room available. It's at least one state up closer but still a hike for her southward.
ReplyDeleteI'll let her know when she gets home. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the weather is nice and you and the Big Bay are enjoying some fall rides!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
