I don't know how this sweet and handsome donkey has grown to be 8 years old but he has. We served apples and carrots and watermelon slices for his party and a good time was had by all.
Rafer, we love you! You're amazing.

Arlene, time does fly. I still think of Rafer as a youngling. :)
Kate, his mom Contessa started giving birth in the pasture and Rafer was emerging as they led her (quickly) to the nursery stall. Rafer Johnson was a wonderful Olympic athletic runner so they named Rafer because he was "running before his feet even hit the ground."
Billie, firstly, I too can hardly believe Rafer Johnson is EIGHT years old. Secondly, I am so proud of you for remembering EXACTLY how he got his name!
