  1. Loved the article. I've always thought it was a bunch of bull. Now this author has certainly put it in a way all can understand the concept that "joining up" "licking and chewing"can be debunked. I always cringe when someone points out that their horses are licking and chewing and by doing so are submitting to us.

    It's been my experience over the years that slow, steady, thoughtful and kind training is the only way to form a bond with a horse. I guess it's the society that we live in that wants everything to be done and perfect in a session or two of training. That's just not going to happen.

  2. So agree with the slow, thoughtful, kind training. I don't know how anyone came up with the term joining up with a technique that involves chasing.
