lessons in riding: a tribute to a friend
Our good friend and massage therapist said goodbye to a grand old mare yesterday. Go well, Polly!! Your herd will miss you but we know you're running fast and free.
Me too, Maire - I cried this morning when I heard but cried harder after I listened to this song. I had never listened to it with the thought of a horse moving on in my mind. Takes on a new and sad and poignant meaning now.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment - I love reading them and respond as often as I can. I also love comments that add to the original post, so feel free to share your own experiences, insights, and thoughts.
That song transported me back in time! Go well Polly indeed.

ReplyDeleteLove Neil Young. Wonderful song.
ReplyDeleteSo sad when we say goodbye to one of our family. Long may you run Polly.
Thanks, Arlene. So hard to think about but at the same time a part of life we have to face as women who love and live with horses.
