It just seems to be innate in his personality to push the boundaries. I have often wondered what it would be like to have an entire herd of ponies! He came from a herd of painted ponies that were for the most part all his siblings of one degree or another. I can only imagine the shenanigans!billiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18187141867284800597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-75948889159812241772011-02-10T08:08:38.032-05:002011-02-10T08:08:38.032-05:00Great post. Most eat side by side but there is the occasional thought that "hey, your hay is better than my hay" with the following push off. It's done quietly, with just a move to the different hay and if someone doesn't get the message some ear movement.

I'd like to think they have some form of horse etiquette or manners learned from us but I'm sure that's not the case. It's probably more that they know there is plenty to go around and they need to assert their individuality once in a while.Grey Horse Mattershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837575441967937196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-48397739333918818212011-02-10T07:40:49.000-05:002011-02-10T07:40:49.000-05:00Matthew, exactly - dance and rhythm of the herd.Matthew, exactly - dance and rhythm of the herd.billiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18187141867284800597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-1140606128004143402011-02-10T07:40:25.451-05:002011-02-10T07:40:25.451-05:00Will look forward to those castle photos! I read a part of that post out loud to my husband - we were both so intrigued by the ride to the castle and in that missiles of filth-filled gallop on the final stretch to home... :)billiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18187141867284800597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-71580105596081880952011-02-10T06:05:47.918-05:002011-02-10T06:05:47.918-05:00Thanks Billie, I'm so glad you liked it! There are some really nice ones (i hope) from a ride we took out to Branc Castle on Sunday (not on Sementa though). I am waiting for my friend to send them.Shinyfluffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14123180479579833646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-27468189323986512012011-02-09T18:49:24.179-05:002011-02-09T18:49:24.179-05:00Amazing to watch the dance and rhythm of the herd....Amazing to watch the dance and rhythm of the herd.Matthewnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-23032720895512664272011-02-09T18:00:17.732-05:002011-02-09T18:00:17.732-05:00Shinyfluff, that really makes me happy - thank you...Shinyfluff, that really makes me happy - thank you so much. Redford - action-oriented is the perfect word for him. :)billiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18187141867284800597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-81536128632850534082011-02-09T15:17:14.334-05:002011-02-09T15:17:14.334-05:00Kate, I agree. I myself am very Rafer-esque - of no status in particular and happy with that rank. Everywhere and nowhere, we are life's observers. Now Redford on the other hoof, is more of an action-oriented donkey, much like Jack. And of course Salina is the Dowager Duchess.ponymaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02996833096239732307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31257856.post-89180592734707787162011-02-09T14:07:01.593-05:002011-02-09T14:07:01.593-05:00Every time I watch horses interacting with one ano...Every time I watch horses interacting with one another, I see and learn new things - I think I'll never stop learning from them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
